“The idea is to remain in a state of constant departure while always arriving.” Waking Life

This wonderful luxurious full body treatment uses warm bamboo and/or rattan tools designed for relaxation or deep tissue work.  The soothing warmth of the sticks relax the muscles, producing veritable “muscle melting” sensation like no other. While the tools deeply knead the musculature, tension quickly dissipates, eliminating knots and congestion. The warmth of the tools cause blood vessels to dilate, which in turn increases blood flow and stimulates lymphatic fluid circulation. If you struggle with blood flow you struggle with healing.

Warm Bamboo is mindfully fused with Malie Lomi, a profoundly nurturing, relaxing and therapeutic ancient Hawaiian healing art. Performed as a spiritual allegory, Malie Lomi becomes a meditative dance which moves the body to a timeless, oceanic rhythm while lulling the mind into alignment with the place of peace within us all. An unspoken prayer for the remembrance of all that we are and ever have been is intentionally woven in.

In addition to warm bamboo, I offer Gua Sha, which is a skin scraping technique in eastern medicine to further release unhealthy elements from injured areas and stimulate blood flow and healing. It is also very effective at breaking up facial adhesions (or “knots”) in the tissues.

Although the bamboo is able to give a deeper, firmer massage; I work at the level of pressure best suited for each individual.  Whether you are looking for deep tissue, injury treatment or relaxation; a warm bamboo fusion session is a uniquely blissful experience. Clients leave feeling as though they took a well-deserved mini vacation to a tropical island resort spa.

For those of you that like to understand the deeper dynamics at play, below is a breakdown of the importance of why we want fluids in our body to flow properly.

Fluid stagnation is a huge issue in the tissues. Chronic tension can cause stagnation. Shock and trauma are held in the body as tension. Tight tissues don't accept blood flow very well. In healing we need our body’s turnover to produce new healthy cells. Which begs the question of what do you need to make new cells that work correctly? First and foremost, access to nutrients and oxygen and the ability to rid toxins and metabolic waste. So when blood rushes through the interstitial tissues, it flushes out toxins and brings fresh oxygen-rich blood to tense or damaged muscles providing an immediate healing affect. Lymphatic fluid circulation is also important. Your lymphatic system helps control tissue pressure. That’s stability. That’s force. Nutrients and oxygen get to cells via vascular delivery and waste gets out via lymph/veins (and other organs like lungs, skin, kidney, liver, bowel). When we stimulate lymph/blood flow our body’s aquarium resets resulting in improved bodily functions, lower blood pressure, and the removal of metabolic waste from internal organs and muscles.
